For some reason, I am very drawn to white kitchens. Probably not a good idea for a household of 5 boys with "rocks in their pockets":) My husband thinks we need dark wood to camouflage dirt and mud (ha ha).
I love the bright accents in this one--feels carefree and happy !
The wood island is a nice touch. I think it gives a warmth to the room...

How do you like that cool vintage oven?

And these sinks---love them!

And how about the size of this kitchen... seriously dreamy...

What is on your kitchen dream list?

Those all look so bright and fresh and clean! LOVE It! Such a breath of fresh air!
ReplyDeleteWish list...I am pretty simple here.
Going for a real dishwasher with a garbage disposal, and enough counterspace to leave my Bosch out...oh ya, and a full side fridge.
:)
Weird. I am working on a "dream Kitchen" post and I have several of the same photos :)
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a young teen, our neighbors remodeled their kitchen and went with all white. She craved one for years and showed it off to everyone. Less than 6 months later--she hated it.
ReplyDeleteSoon after, I learned to hate it as I was her regular babysitter-and everything from the greenhouse window to the appliance garage, to the counters--always a mess.
My dream kitchen is just big enough without too much walking between appliances, a place to eat, tons of counter space and a pantry for food. Cabinets that I can reach would be in that dream kitchen too. We have the worst cabinets--too high for anyone to reach anything but the bottom shelf of them without a step stool, no pantry, so making dinner is like a stair climbing aerobics class.
Tarrant,
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your experience! It sounds lke my husband is right--white kitchens are not all that dreamy when you actually have living to do:) I sure think they look beautiful in magazines though!
I agree with cabinets that are more useable--I am a shorty and have always had to have a stool handy while working in my kitchen. I like the way you described cooking in your kitchen as a step class! I can relate!! That is so funny!
I do agree though that white kitchens always draw me in magazines and online. I just know from experience that they don't work out well--at least not for me or for my neighbor. If you only needed a decorative kitchen or had someone who was keen on the smell of bleach and chasing crumbs all the time--then go for it.
ReplyDeleteMy older sister also claims grey grout seems like a good idea in the beginning but also is bad in a kitchen because it never looks clean after the first few months. I haven't spent enough time in her house to notice though. (She lives far away)
WOW!! Ya those look amazing. Cheryl got a farm sink - she loves it. I have to say I had never seen one (or noticed) before she got one. I love the next post - super cool quote. And your menu for this week... yum. I may just start copying your meals - haha! :) Love you sis!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE white kitchens too- with a kind of country french touch. Get Brad on that project!!
ReplyDeleteI found you thru The Sister's Cafe. I would LOVE a white kitchen, just gotta wait til my kids are gone! Those sinks are to die for!
ReplyDeletei love love love white kitchens... i have white cabinets now, and when/if we ever remodel i will go with white again. white never seems to look dated, and always looks fresh.
ReplyDeletebtw, i love your blog!!! i just went to the sisters cafe and here looking for dinner ideas since i'm making my shopping list. :)
I love white kitchens too, and they seem to date better than other colours and styles.
