On the morning of the BYU vs Utah game we ALWAYS have a BLUE breakfast.
It's a tradition that my boys LOVE and look forward to.
You would think that moving across the country would lessen the hype of this rivalry for my boys,
but the miles have done nothing to squash their BYU enthusiasm.
These boys of mine are true blue through and through!
Rise and Shout the Cougars are out in Tennessee!
It is now only half time and already 11:30pm here on the East coast. Geez--we are going to be up all night watching this game, not that my boys will mind!
Lets hope these crazy little cougar fans of mine will get to go to bed happy, reliving a win in their dreams tonight!
I am crossing my fingers:)

I wish you were my mom...you are soo fun! I am going to steal this tradition, my boys will love it!
what do you use for the blue?
Hi Catherine,
The blue is just some of the batter mixed with food coloring paste and a decorating tube--I got both the paste and the tube in the cake decorating dept of Hobby Lobby. Super cheap and very fun for my boys:)
How cut is that! I love all your traditions! You are definitely the funnest mom ever!
What a fabulous idea! We love BYU also- what a sad game :(
I love that idea of putting color on pancakes. Does the blue show through on the cooked pancakes?
what a fun tradition! you are seriously the best mom, sis. I'm not joking. You are SO COOL!!! Those boys are so blessed to have such a laid back, fun-loving, creative mom that loves the gospel and teaches them so well. So sorry their beloved Cougars got trashed... i'm not snickering as I write this!!!! I'm am dead serious! that was a sad game for you guys! :(
Hi Anonymous,
To answer your question--YES the color did show thru when cooked. You can clearly see it--not as dark as pictured above, but still readable:)
I just bought those bottles at wal-mart, too! I love this idea. I am definitely doing this soon! Great idea, sis. I can see your boys TOTALLY loving this.
