Lil' Bandits & a Lil thought for Moms

Early Morning Fun

(After running into the table and hurting his big toe, Coleman discovered that it was hard to carry out his bandit agenda with a kleenex taped over his eyes.)

Here is a little poem that I got from a Mom I admire. I think she is already really good at this--I am still working on it, so I keep it up in my kitchen as a reminder-Enjoy!

If I had my child to raise over again,

I 'd finger paint more and point my finger less.

I'd do less correcting and more connecting.

I'd take my eyes off my watch and watch with my eyes.

I would care to know less and know to care more,

I would take more hikes and fly more kites.

I'd stop playing serious and seriously play,

I'd run through more fields, and gaze at more stars.

I'd do more hugging, and less tugging

I would be firm less often, and affirm much more.

I'd build self-sesteem first, and the house later.

I'd teach less about the love of power,

And more about the power of love.

That poem says it all--I need to put that on my fridge in big bold letters as a gentle reminder! Cute boys! Love your "new look"!

I love that poem, Mel - how inspiring it is! That picture of the boys was hilarious...Coleman with his whole face covered and bandit-Bridger standing in his undies!! Haha!
