As you know, I am crazy about holidays...any holiday really..but St. Patty's day is special for me. Every year a tricky little Leprachan visits us during the night and my boys wake up on St. Patty's day to find gold candies scattered around the house. This leprachan also plays a crazy little prank on us each year that my boys get very excited about. Our milk is white in the catron but when we pour it into the glasses it turns green! Just one time this happened YEARS ago and now it is so talked about that he has to do it EVERY St. Patrick's Day!
Our lovely green pancake breakfast! Yum!
We don't know why we get the great honor of having a little leprachan come to us, we think it might have to do with our Irish heritage.
My sweet Great Grandma Maragaret Annie Ririe -I love her!
Cannon's favorite part of the meal was the ice cream sandwich desserts! Yumo!

You always do the funnest things with your family! What cute boys you have! You are an amazing mom!
I love the traditions and heritage! We had green pancakes, too, this morning. We get together as a family, also. I have some Irish blood and a close aunt whose family is Irish. We have corn beef, potatoes, cabbage, corn bread, and shepherd's pie with mint ice cream pies for dessert. In the past I have also made scones or Irish soda bread. Gotta love holidays!
Oh my goodness! I think the same crazy leprachan was at our house today...our milk and pancakes were green too! The girls LOVED this holiday and were trying to catch that silly guy all day long but he was just too quick. He kept playing jokes on us and making a ton of messes! What a fun holiday...love the wig!
What fun traditions! We'll have to be sure to write to your tricky little Leprachan for some of those gold candies and green milk next year! But our green french toast was a hit! Such fun traditions. And to be able to celebrate your heritage too! Now, do the Irish have green curly hair as well?! So cute!
Melanie, you are the best mommy! Seriously... it was so fun to read and see your St Paddy's Day celebration. I love how you made your breakfast table so cute, too. I am excited to get to do things like that some day. I love you, sis. And Mom's house was SO fun! I guess that is who you got it from. :)
HOW FUN! That looks like a lot of fun traditions. I just LOVE that leprechaun that comes to your house. Gold coin candies, green milk... You are such a fun mom! We made green pancakes too and I have to admit they weren't quite as tasty when they were colored GREEN! :) All the Irish food at Mom's party looks delish. I especially loved how you talked about our Irish heritage. It makes it so much more special to really remember why we love St. Patricks day - because of our Irish heritage!
I loved all those pictures! Your boys sure are lucky to have such a fun mom!! I might steal some of your family traditions... i love the green milk trick, and the gold coins!! How FUN!!!!!!
How cute are your boys Melanie?? seriously, that is one handsome bunch!!
Melanie, your boys are so lucky. What a great mother you are. I think you and your sisters are all going to be wonderful, fun and loving mothers. . . . just like your mom! Love you, darl'n. Dad
