Unplugged and Weekend Plans

This little clip is great!!
This past summer with all my boys home.  I have tried to be unplugged as much as possible and it has been nice:)
We miss out on the life around us when we are always on our devices.
I know this is easier said than done, at least for me.   It helps to remember that my children are watching and I want to be a good example when it comes to electronic use.

I have realized something though...my very best ideas and inspiration come not when I am online, but usually when I am serving my family or having a quiet moment to myself.  Seriously,  doing dishes, mopping, taking a warm shower ---all usually produce some pretty brilliant thoughts:)

(Our last little hurrah before school started...Lunch downtown --it was hot and humid, but yummy!:)

I am so thankful to be a Mother.  Raising kids can be challenging and exhausting but there is nothing I would rather do with my life.  I feel so blessed and am so thankful for the gift of 5 sons.

This weekend we have some exciting plans, starting off with

The boys can hardly wait!  Tonight is the opening game for our High School Football team.  We will be decked out in our green and black and meet up with other friends and fans at the school to caravan up to Signal Mountain for a pizza tailgate party before the big game! I love this time of  year:)

Go Canes!!

Mel,
I love sisterscafe and follow your personal blog when I can. This summer our community launched a campaign called "Heber Unplugged" where we encouraged families to turn off electronics, turn off the video games and turn on LIFE. We had over 1,300 kids register for the program, and gave away over 63,000 brag tags. You can read more about it at www.heberunplugged.com we are inviting communities every where to expand it into their towns and neighborhoods. It has changed ours!
