Scents of the Season

I enjoyed a little trip to Bath and Body Works recently and I was delighted to find this new scent ...
Black Amethyst
It is my new favorite! I am also loving the subtle fragrance filling my home from the Leaves wallflower. And of course I picked up the annual wallflower that smells like a REAL Christmas Tree, since mine is not:) I am getting ready for Holiday Season!
I LOVE this time of year!
I used this coupon here (click to print) to get $10 off a $30 purchase at Bath and Body Works.

Halloween Here We Come!

I am getting very excited about the upcoming holiday! Just like my Dad, I LOVE the fall! And just like my Mom I am crazy for holidays and Halloween is next! Yipee, I love Halloween! With five boys, this holiday is a BIG deal around here!
These cool ideas are from Martha Stewart:

My boys would LOVE making these Papier-Mache glowing pumpkins. The directions can be found here. We are going to give them a try this year.

The boys and I have big plans for a fun Halloween Party. I love this table cloth! It looks simple enough to make if I can find the box that holds my sewing machine!

Simple and very spooky!

My Mom made these little mice and puts them out each year for her annual Halloween party for the family. We are REALLY going to miss being there this year!

Aren't they fun in a creepy kind of way!
Well, I am off to the craft store! I will be ready to decorate on October 1! Can't wait!

Happy St. Patricks Day!

As you know, I am crazy about holidays...any holiday really..but St. Patty's day is special for me. Every year a tricky little Leprachan visits us during the night and my boys wake up on St. Patty's day to find gold candies scattered around the house. This leprachan also plays a crazy little prank on us each year that my boys get very excited about. Our milk is white in the catron but when we pour it into the glasses it turns green! Just one time this happened YEARS ago and now it is so talked about that he has to do it EVERY St. Patrick's Day!

Our lovely green pancake breakfast! Yum!

We don't know why we get the great honor of having a little leprachan come to us, we think it might have to do with our Irish heritage.

My sweet Great Grandma Maragaret Annie Ririe -I love her!

My Great Great Grandma Mary Jane Parks McConnell was born in Ireland. Her daughter my Great Grandma Margaret Annie Ririe, is very dear to me and in fact I am named after her (my middle name is Anne). I had hoped to name a daughter Annie after her, but I didn't get the chance! Anyway, my Mother grew up eating many Irish dishes and has a great love for Ireland...so every March my cute Mom hosts a St. Patricks Day party! She makes my Grandma's famous meat pies, colcannon (mashed potatos and cabbage-the recipe is posted at sisters cafe), scones, stuffed mushrooms and other green side dishes! We tell Irish jokes after and play games! Fun times!

Cannon's favorite part of the meal was the ice cream sandwich desserts! Yumo!

Valenitnes Weekend Recap

We had such a great Valentines Weekend with our boys. It started off with tubing at Soldier Hollow, in Midway with a bunch of other families from our neighborhood. After we stayed at my brother's place at the Zermatt in Midway. Thanks Matt-- It was so fun! Brad took us all to a yummy breakfast the next morning--before we were off to Basketball games for Connor and TJ. We ended the day with our tradtional Valentines dinner (just like last year) of Heart shaped pizza, Love Potion Punch and ding door ditching each other with Valentines. Grandma and Grandpa stopped by for chocolate fondue and the NBA all star 3 Point Shootout and Slam Dunk contest. I wish I would have snapped some pictures--but what a fun night with the people I LOVE!! *click on the pink writing!
