Off to Scout Camp...again

( Connor ready for scout camp in TN last month)

My oldest is a true scouter so when he was invited to go to scout camp with his old troop here in Utah he jumped at the opportunity.

He looked so spiffy this morning in full uniform. In Tennessee his troop doesn't ever require the boys to wear their full uniform--so I enjoyed the sight of all these cute young men looking so sharp. Too bad Connor did not want me snapping pictures:) not cool, ya know?

Two scout camps within a month is a little crazy but he was so excited,
and that makes me happy! This camp he has signed up for a wilderness survivor merit badge--which requires one night out on their own. I am a little nervous about that , but not Connor. He can't wait.

I really LOVE scouting. This is the mission statement from the Boy Scouts of America website:

The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.

Scout Oath
On my honor I will do my best
To do my duty to God and my country
and to obey the Scout Law;
To help other people at all times;
To keep myself physically strong,
mentally awake, and morally straight.

Scout Law
A Scout is:
Trustworthy
Loyal
Helpful
Friendly
Courteous
Kind
Obedient
Cheerful
Thrifty
Brave
Clean
Reverent

Who wouldn't want that for their boys? I hope that all 5 of my sons will embrace scouting and earn their Eagle just like their Daddy:) Hopefully, I can make it thru all those stinky smelly boys coming home from campouts! Ugh!

TJ the Bear

Brad and I enjoyed a little one-on-one ( or should I say two-on-one?) time with our Tanner Johnn at the cub scout Blue and Gold Banquet.

This is TJ pinning me when he recieved his Bear award! I have lots of pins now between Connor and TJ. Those boys are ambitious little scouters!

We are so proud of him for working so hard and earning his Bear! I was thinking about TJ and what a wonderful person he is. I feel so blessed to have him as my son!

One of the things I love the most about TJ is his kind and loving heart. He is so good with his little brothers. He is always fun and happy in our family!

And he LOVES babies!! This is TJ and his newest cousin Jack.

He has always had a soft spot inhis heart for little ones! Here he is reading to Cannon one year ago...

What a sweet boy I have!
