Connor the HUNTER

Connor headed up into the autumn mountains with Grandpa and Uncle Matt (and the HORSES) this weekend for the opening weekend of the ELK HUNT! This has become a yearly tradition that he looks forward to and loves!

On the way they saw lots of SHEEP (blocking the road), cool FISH (that Matt caught with his bare hands--what a MAN!) and some beautiful FALL COLORS.

They were up before the sun and off to find the BIG ELK! They were RAINED on all day...

They tracked down several RAINBOWS...but did not come home with that BIG ELK! O well there is always next year!! THANKS Dad and Matt--Connor had so much fun being with you up in the mountains riding horses!! The perfect weekend for a boy!

Oh my goodness, what gorgeous Fall colors. I'm so jealous. Was this part of your Idaho weekend? We haven't had any leafs change at all yet in southern UT.

From what I hear those pictures did not tell how cold a miserable the weather was . . . but Grandpa and Uncle Matt say that Con-man never uttered a complaint. He has got his Grandpa's genes! He is getting to be a good horseman. Next year, I think he can carry . . . cool! Then he can start "bringin' home the bacon!"

I have wonderful memories of hunting with Dad at that age too... we didn't even have horses then either! I'm so glad that Connor loves it too and that he gets to spend that great time with his Grandpa and uncle! He got some gorgeous pictures...wow!!

Those pictures are awesome!!! The fall colors are breath taking. The rainbows are so pretty. Connor looks so grown up. Do I say that in every comment? That pic of him with Matt & the fish - he looks so old. It's trippy! I'm glad that he had such a good time. Benjamin and I loved the pictures.

Probably one of the most miserable hunts we have had! It rained and rained. . . never really let up. After acouple of hours we were wet, cold and tired (we tied the horses up and did alot of hiking). . but Connor never moaned, gripped or complained. We would stand and glass an area and I would glance at Connor and he would be sitting there wet and cold, his lower lip quivering. "How you doing, Connor?" I'd ask. He ALWAYS smiled and say "Good." He would make any grandpa proud! He is truely getting to be someone to "ride the river" with! Grandpa
