A Night at the Ballet

I had a date with my Mom last night. It was delightful! First we enjoyed dinner at our favorite Indian restaurant, the Taste of Punjab. We had fresh warm Naan (for a recipe go here) and Tikka Masala, over fragrant Jasmine rice. Wonderful food + wonderful conversation=perfect dinner!
Then we were off to downtown Salt Lake City, to the historic Capitol Theatre, home of the Ballet West. This old theatre is just BEAUTIFUL- I took this photo while we were waiting for the show to begin. We had great seats--center stage! We saw a beautiful and moving performance of Madame Butterfly, with the Utah Chamber Orchestra providing the music of Giacomo Puccini. The set was amazing, the music passionate, and dancing breathtaking!
Romi Beppu was Madame Butterfly--so graceful--an incredible dancer!

We were also treated to a performance of "GONG"--with costumes by Isaac Mizrahi.
The colors were spectacular!

So,if you are in the mood for an enchanting evening out, I would highly recommend Ballet West's Madame Butterfly and Gong. You can still get tickets here.
Thank you Mom for such a wonderful night at the ballet!
The best part was enjoying it all with you. I love you so much!

How wonderful! I love Madame Butterly, but I've never seen the ballet. I would love to experience that. I'm glad you & your Mom got to go out together.

Yum, I love Indian food! I haven't been to Taste of Punjab, though. I know you have talked of going to the ballet with your Mom many times before. I didn't realize she took each of you individually. How awesome is that?!
